Transdiagnostic Treatments for Children and Adolescents: Principles and Practice 1st Edition

[amazon template=iframe image2&asin=1462512666]

This volume presents cutting-edge advances in case conceptualization and intervention for children and adolescents, who typically present for mental health treatment with multiple,  overlapping problems. Leading clinician-researchers examine common processes–including stress and coping, attention and interpretation biases, avoidant behaviors, and peer and family interactions–that underlie the development and maintenance of diverse forms of psychopathology. They describe exemplary treatments that target these processes and can be used across diagnostic categories. Chapters on specific treatment protocols address the theoretical foundations, clinical strategies used, which patient populations each treatment is suitable for, and the status of the empirical evidence base.

Jill Ehrenreich-May, PhD, is Director of the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment program at the University of Miami, where she is also Associate Professor in the Child Division of the Department of Psychology. She previously was Research Assistant Professor of Psychology and Associate Director of the Child Program in the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University. Dr. Ehrenreich-May’s research and clinical work focus on evidence-based treatment of anxiety and depression in youth. She is author or coauthor of multiple journal articles, book chapters, and other publications.

Brian C. Chu, PhD, is Associate Professor and Assistant Chair of the Department of Clinical Psychology in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Perinatal Neuroradiology: From the Fetus to the Newborn 1st ed

[amazon template=iframe image2&asin=8847053242]

The novel aim of this book is to illustrate the MR imaging features of the fetal and the neonatal brain by matching prenatal and postnatal images for a wide range of neurological abnormalities. The focus is on both conventional and advanced MR imaging techniques, including high-resolution MR autopsy of the fetal brain.

During the past ten years, neuroradiological evaluation of the neonatal and the prenatal brain has advanced tremendously. However, even though they are intrinsically related, these two critical stages in brain development are usually studied and presented separately. In order to have a sound understanding of neonatal brain diseases, detailed knowledge of prenatal brain pathology is immensely helpful; conversely, knowledge of neonatal brain disease is a prerequisite for understanding many fetal brain lesions. Written by experts in the field, Perinatal Neuroradiology will be of value for neuroradiologists and pediatric radiologists, as well as obstetricians and neonatologists.
