The differences in BTA treatment of Asians and Caucasians with respect to applicable dose, injection methods, anatomic significance, and indications are clearly described. It is explained how the optimal dose and injection sites for the treatment of wrinkles differ from the guidelines advocated in North America and Europe. Detailed consideration is given to the rapidly expanding role that BTA treatment is playing in facial and body contouring based on leveraging the mechanism of disuse muscle atrophy. Examples that are particularly relevant in Asians include treatment of hypertrophy of the masseter and temporalis muscles and calf muscle reduction. About the Author

Dr Rajender Singh, PhD, is a senior scientist at the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. He completed his doctoral studies at the prestigious Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad. His research interests include understanding the causes and developing modalities for the treatment of male infertility. His work has been recognized by a number of prestigious scientific bodies in the form of the Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award in 2015 from D.Bt.; Young Scientist Award from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 2014; Young Scientist Award from the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) in 2012; and the Young Scientist Award from the Indian National Scientific Academy (INSA) in 2011. Dr Singh has more than 100 research articles to his credit..

Dr Kiran Singh, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, where she completed her doctoral studies at the Cytogenetics Laboratory. A major focus of her research is on reproductive health, particularly on elucidating the molecular genetic mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of human male infertility and early miscarriage. Her efforts have led to the discovery of many novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for these medical conditions. Dr Singh’s research contributions have been widely cited and recognised, e.g. with the Prof N.R Moudgal Young Scientist award from the Indian Society for Study in Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF). She has published 55 research articles in peer-reviewed national/international journals, and serves as an editor for many prominent journals. Further, she is a life member of many societies like the ISSRF, ISHG, SRBCE and ISCB.

Imran Mushtaq is a Consultant Paediatric Urologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health, London, started his career as a paediatric urologist in 2001. Dr. Stajčić is former Professor of Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Faculty of Stomatology, University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka, and the Bristol Dental Hospital, University of Bristol, UK, as well as former Professor of Oral Implantology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad. Professor Stajčić is a fellow of the International Team for Implantology (Registered Speaker) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He is a past President of the Serbian Association for Oral Implantology and the Dental Chamber of Serbia, as well as a past Councilor of the European Association for Cranio-maxillofacial Surgery. Professor Stajčić has published 76 articles in peer-review journals and is the author or editor of four textbooks.
