Atlas of Essential Dermatopathology

The book is not intended to be an all-encompassing atlas or textbook but rather a foundation of principles in dermatopathology, highlighting key elements in the field for trainees and will also serve as a basic resource for the pathologist in general practice. In addition to the sketches and minimal text, we envision accompanying high resolution histopathologic micrographs for ultimate correlation as well.

Skin Tumors and Reactions to Cancer Therapy in Children 1st ed. 2018 Edition

In today’s era of genomic testing, targeted cancer therapies, and increased cancer survivorship, recognition and management of oncologic disease in children is becoming more important to address. This book familiarizes clinicians with the range of oncologic issues that pediatric dermatologists encounter, including the diagnosis and management of various skin tumors, cutaneous reactions to cancer therapies, and both acute and long term complications of cancer therapy.

Written and edited by experts in the field, Pediatric Skin Tumors and Cutaneous Reactions to Cancer Therapy explores these important topics, beginning with the discussion of various skin tumors, and associated genetic syndromes, followed by chapters on acute cutaneous reactions to traditional and targeted cancer therapies, graft versus host disease, and opportunistic skin infections. This book concludes with the discussion of both malignant and nonmalignant late effects of the skin in childhood cancer survivors.

Dermatology Made Easy 1st Edition

Dermatology Made Easy

“… easy to read and informative. One cannot emphasise enough the quality and comprehensive nature of the photographic content.…
My overall impression of this textbook is one of excellence in dealing with all aspects of medical dermatology. The book is impressive and the photographic illustration second to none ….
As someone who was interested in dermatology even as a medical student my only regret is that this book was not around when I was a student as it would have very adequately guided me into my beloved subspecialty.
… remarkably good value. The book more than exceeds the requirements of any medical student but I suspect will be mainly useful for general practitioners and nurse practitioners with an interest in medical dermatology. I have little doubt that this will be a highly successful textbook given the popularity of the New Zealand dermatology website and the excellence of the clinical photography.”
Ulster Med J 2017;86(3):1–1.

Dermatology Made Easy is based on the hugely popular DermNet New Zealand website and is designed to help family physicians, medical students and dermatologists diagnose skin conditions with confidence.
The book starts by providing a series of comprehensive tables, complete with over 500 thumbnail photos, to aid diagnosis according to symptoms, morphology, or body site. Once you have narrowed down the diagnosis, cross-references then guide you to more detailed descriptions, and another 700 photographs, covering:
• common infections
• inflammatory rashes
• non-inflammatory conditions
• skin lesions
Every section provides consistent information on the disorder:
• who gets it and what causes it?
• what are the clinical features and does it cause any complications?
• how do you diagnose it?
• how do you treat it and how long does it take to resolve?
The book concludes with a comprehensive section on further investigations and treatment options.
Dermatology Made Easy combines the essential focus of the Made Easy book series with the authority and knowledge base of DermNet New Zealand’s unparalleled resources.
Printed in full color throughout.

About the Author

Carrier‐Mediated Dermal Delivery: Applications in the Prevention and Treatment of Skin Disorders 1st Edition

This book presents new approaches for skin aging and photocarcinogenesis and topical formulations based on nanocarrier systems for skin disorders. It discusses cosmeceuticals, laser, photodynamic therapy, and melatonin-based treatments as important strategies for photoaging management. Photodynamic therapy and melatonin can be used in the photocarcinogenesis context, too. Therefore, the inclusion of this strong antioxidant in sunscreen products could be a promising approach. The book discusses topical formulations, including emulsions (conventional formulations and emulsions stabilized by solid particles), nail films, and nanocarriers used for the delivery of actives in various skin and nail diseases such as acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, fungal diseases, leishmaniasis, and skin cancer. Finally, several nanocarriers are introduced, such as lipid vesicles (ranging from the first-generation conventional liposomes to the more recent deformable vesicles), liquid crystalline nanodispersions, gelatin, and solid lipid nanoparticles. Their composition, formulation, characterization, and topical applications are also discussed. Although this is a broad topic, the most important (nano)pharmaceutical formulations are presented in the book.
